Maintenance is something you know should be done but have been debating about it for a while. Have any questions? Let’s see if we can answer some for you.
What are some benefits of having maintenance done?
- It assists with preventing costly breakdowns by catching potential hazards early. Saving money on expensive repairs is always a good thing!
- Helps your system run at peak efficiency, which could lower energy bills! Raise your hand if that sounds like a good idea!
- Assurance that your system has been cleaned and checked in preparation for the upcoming season. Comfortability in your home is top priority!
- May increase the life of your equipment. Who wouldn’t want their equipment to last longer!
- Ensure safe operation of your equipment. Always an amazing feeling!
Your equipment goes through a lot over the course of a year, from harsh temperatures (cold and hot) to the changing of the seasons, or even out of our control power fluctuations or outages. It’s such a peace of mind to have your system cleaned and checked. This is kind of like giving a muddy dog a bath, always satisfying when the end result comes out clean.
Wondering if you could do the maintenance yourself?
We know a lot of people out there are very capable of a lot of things and some are a jack of all trades. However, having maintenance done by a licensed HVAC technician does more than just clean and inspect your system. We have the training and licensing behind us to ensure your satisfaction and warranty anything that might go array. We back our work and if a problem ever arises, we put the customer first.
There are some things that can be done at home in between maintenances, such as:
- Checking your filter. Some filters need to be checked every 30-60 days, some every 60-90 days and some longer. It’s always a good rule of thumb to know how long your filter is good for and make it a habit to check it regularly. Hold it up to the light and see if you can see light. Can you? Then it still has life left in it. No light, change it.
- Outdoor debris around your unit can cause issues, removing it, pruning bushes and pulling weeds can ensure your system is getting the most air it can.
- Make sure to keep supply and return registers clear. Remove rugs, furniture or materials from the top of them and move drapes to the side.
