Repair Tech came to house for diagnostic check on malfunctioning heat pump. This was second company I called, and these guys actually gave me some real answers for what might be wrong, versus just telling me I need a whole new system for $31K because the current one is not fixable.
For starters, they found a wire harness that was loose in the air handler, which wouldn’t allow the unit to move air. Cleaned it out and plugged back in, system working. Seems like something any HVAC company worth their salt would check. However, still have a coolant leak and Alpine couldn’t find any in the area where the other company said it was, but the coolant level was down another pound so they topped that off and it verified that we have a leak somewhere.
So overall, where I would have recommended the other company to someone who asked, at this point I would say call Alpine. BTW, they installed my whole house Generac generator and did a fantastic job, from hooking up to my underground Propane tank to running the high voltage line underground to the main house. Works great, got us through the several power outages we’ve had since then without anyone having to fire it up or switch loads, all automated.

Neal was great.Came out and had our motor the AC going in 10 minutes.It was a few days before the next heat wave so we are very appreciative.
